Last weekend finally saw the end of Swansea’s hopes of a play off spot after losing 1-0 at Sheffield United. Our hopes now rely on Cardiff who again tried to ruin the season by losing 3-0 to Ipswich. They now need to get a point at Sheffield Wednesday next Sunday to make sure of a spot in the play-offs.

Swansea continued the challenge for a play-off spot with a 1-0 victory over Bristol City at the Liberty Stadium. Skipper Gary Monk chose a fine time to score his first goal of the season and all eyes will now be watching the Sheffield United against Burnley match tonight. Cardiff City received a set-back when they were thumped 6-0 at Preston. Manager Dave Jones will be hoping for better luck when they travel to Charlton on Tuesday.
The Blues gained some silverware when they comprehensibly beat Gloucester to land the EDF Trophy and the Osreys outpointed the Scarlets in the local derby.

Here we are nearing the end of another successful season for our Welsh football and rugby teams.
Cardiff Blues can grab some silverware by lifting the EDF Trophy when the take on Gloucester. We have Cardiff at 8/11 to bring the cup home to Wales. We also have the local derby when the Ospreys travel to take on the Scarlets….always an interesting encounter.
The play-offs, at least, are still on the cards for the ‘Bluebirds ‘and the’ Swans’. Cardiff have a difficult trip to Preston while Swansea entertain old rivals Bristol City….wonder if Lee Trundle will get a game??

There I was thinking how lucky we were to have a top ref. like Mike Dean for the game with Cardiff and look what happened! That must have been one of the softest penalties ever seen on Sky. With decisions like that Cardiff must be certainties for a play-off spot at least!!
